Edwalton pre-school lowers intake age to one-year-old and announces Open Day

The Ark Pre-School in Edwalton – has lowered their intake age to one year, as well as extending their opening hours.

Ahead of the new government scheme which helps eligible working parents with 15 hours of free childcare for children aged 9 months plus (previously three years).

This exciting change allows working parents more options when it comes to local childcare arrangements.

The Ark Pre-School is a charity run facility, with a team of level 3 qualified staff in a home-from-home environment.

They follow in-the-moment planning; spontaneously creating activities based on each child’s individual interests and moments of curiosity, as opposed to traditional methods of sticking to a particular theme to complete tasks.

They promote outdoor play and have a mud kitchen area, where children are encouraged to explore, express themselves and get messy and also a garden, so that they can explore growth and nature.

Plus, school leavers have the opportunity to attend weekly forest school sessions where the children are encouraged to work together to build dens, explore, climb and have fun, building resilience and self esteem.

For anybody interested in visiting the setting; the Ark Pre-School is opening its doors to new and familiar faces on Saturday 11th May between 10:30am – 12:30pm. Expect face painting, arts and crafts and lots of fun!

The preschool is in Wellin Lane at the Rock Hub.
