Fire crews have been on the scene at the Enva site since 5 am.
Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service said at 5:08 am on Friday 30 August:
‘We currently have 8 appliances on scene at a fire on Colwick Industrial Estate, Netherfield.
‘Firefighters are working hard to contain the fire.
‘We ask that people avoid the area where possible and consider alternative routes this morning when travelling.’
‘We are aware that some of the surrounding businesses will start to open soon – we will be working with them throughout the day to ensure safety precautions are in place when they are operating.’
In an update at 7 am
‘We have now scaled down this incident. A couple of appliances remain at the scene damping down and they will continue to do so for the next couple of hours.
Thank you for your patience whilst we have been dealing with this incident over night.’
