The results from all 66 divisions of Nottinghamshire have now been declared.
The Conservatives now have overall control of Nottinghamshire County Council and will form the new administration.
The final results are:
Conservatives – 37
Labour – 15
Ashfield Independents – 10
Independents – 3
Liberal Democrats – 1
The Nottinghamshire County Council Conservative Group’s Annual General Meeting will be held on Monday 10 May, following which a new leader will be announced.
Conservatives Acting Leader, Councillor Reg Adair, said: “This is a very good day for the Conservatives across Nottinghamshire and we want to thank the residents of Nottinghamshire for putting their trust in us for another four years.
“The post-Covid era will be important for the regeneration of our county so that we can consolidate on jobs, economic prosperity and attracting new funding to build on the work that we have done since 2017.
“A number of members have lost their seats and it is always sad when we lose colleagues from across the chamber. I would like to thank them for their efforts whilst serving for this council.”
