Elections 2017:West Bridgford West Conservative will ‘continue to represent the community’ if re-elected , says candidate

The people of West Bridgford West should vote for the Conservative Party in order to protect our funding for local community groups, the party’s local candidate has told The Wire.

The Conservatives in Nottinghamshire have put together a positive plan and a vision for the County, to improve our roads and schools, boost jobs and businesses, and support those who need it most.

Here in Nottinghamshire, on Thursday 4th May, you have the opportunity to make a change in the leadership of your County Council by electing a Conservative administration.

“It has been my privilege to represent the community of West Bridgford West since 2009,” said Mr Wheeler.

“I enjoy a close working relationship with all the junior schools in my Division and have, by way of example, organised trips to County Hall and the Houses of Parliament. I have supported Duke of Edinburgh in Becket and Rushcliffe Schools. And it was an honour to accept an invitation to become a Governor at West Bridgford School.

“I am a regular visitor to the three community centres and through my Councillors Divisional Fund, supported activities for the elderly. I engage with residents on issues which matter to them and work with officials to deliver outcomes which will benefit the community.

“I have a wealth of experience, having entered local politics in 2003. This will serve me well, when it comes to dealing with a range of difficult and sensitive issues in challenging times.

“In seeking a further four year term I want to continue representing the community in County Hall by speaking on issues which are important to them, petitioning for better roads, campaigning for enhanced safety measures and funding local community groups.”

  1. There are three other candidates in West Bridgford West. There was an article about Labour’s all women candidates. The Liberal Democrats and Green Party are options for voters too.

    In West Bridgford West:

Ian Munro for the Liberal Democrats.

Will Richardson for the Green Party.

We are opposed to fracking in our Nottinghamshire countryside.

    We support a public NHS.

We support properly funded public transport and education available for all.

Funding is a key issue. The upcoming education cuts of hundreds of pounds per pupil resulting in teacher job cuts and higher pupil teacher ratios. Inadequate funding of the NHS and social care. These are the direct results of unnecessary austerity, believing that there is a shortage of man made money.

Caroline Lucas and the Green Party make a good case for sustainable prosperity. We are a rich country with sovereignty and control over our public money. This means that our government can buy whatever goods services and workers that are available for sale. We can no more run out of money than we can run out of numbers.

Vote Green in 2017 for councillors and MPs that put the common good of our environment and people first.
