A bike robbery suspect was arrested after his mobile phone was found at the scene of the crime.
A teenage boy was robbed of his electric bike after being approached by a group of youths at Broxtowe Country Park on Wednesday evening (27 August).
One of the youths reportedly pulled out a flick knife before taking the bike and fleeing with the rest of the group – with one dropping his mobile phone.
The robbery was reported to the police, who seized the mobile phone as part of their inquiries into the incident.
Later that evening, the owner of the mobile phone – a 16-year-old boy – turned up at Broxtowe Police Station (pictured) with his mother to attempt to get his phone back.
The boy was arrested on suspicion of robbery. Inquiries to trace other suspects remain ongoing.
Detective Chief Inspector Claire Gould, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:
“This was a frightening ordeal for the victim and thankfully he was not physically harmed.
“We treat all reports of this nature seriously and are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed what happened or believes they can assist our investigation.”
