Ellerslie Cricket Club get new gates thanks to developer and Local Improvement Scheme

Ellerslie Cricket Club in West Bridgford is delighted to receive a new set of gates for its ground in Wilford Lane.

West Bridgford-based Ellerslie Cricket Club is a well established Cricket offering Senior and Junior Cricket at a wide range of ability levels.

Housing developer Redrow and Nottinghamshire County Council’s Local Improvement Scheme supported the funding of the gates, with Cllr Gordon Wheeler playing a big part in the recommendation.

Name on gates

The gates were manufactured locally by Ruddington business South Notts Fabrications.

A spokesperson for the club told us:

‘We are absolutely delighted with the new gates and value the financial help we’ve received from the County Council’s LIS scheme and from Redrow extremely highly –  without that help the project simply would not have been possible.’

The club will celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2023.

The club offers excellent facilities for both Junior and Senior Cricket, providing a safe and friendly environment to play cricket!

They currently run 4 Saturday league teams in the South Nottinghamshire Cricket League and 2 Senior cup sides as well as Junior teams at every age group, including All star, Kwik and Hardball Cricket.

Ellerslie hold the ECB’s Clubmark and have been awarded Focus Club status by Nottinghamshire CCC.
