Colleagues from across three core areas of East Midlands Ambulance Service were recognised for their long service and outstanding contribution at a ceremony in Nottingham on Tuesday, 17 December 2024.
In addition to their years of service (amassing 580 years in total, ranging from 10 to 40 years of individual service), staff were acknowledged for a multitude of reasons, including long service, volunteering, acts of bravery (Willets Award), the Chief Executive’s Commendation, and retirements.
Opening the ceremony, Richard Henderson, Chief Executive of East Midlands Ambulance Service, said: “I would firstly like to thank you all immensely for attending today.
“Being able to give out these awards is a real privilege.
“We know that within the NHS and in the ambulance sector, there can be some really challenging times where we are faced with adversity.
“Therefore, this is a real opportunity for us to come together to say a huge thank you for what you all do, day in and day out.”
Joining Richard at the event were Kerry Gulliver, Director of People, and EMAS Chairman Jeff Worrall.
Jeff added: “This is my first opportunity to meet colleagues like this, so it’s great to be here.
“It’s a great event to be able to celebrate the years that people have completed in the NHS and EMAS.”
