Evening road closures and bus route changes for Trent Bridge works

Nottinghamshire County Council are carrying out resurfacing work on part of the A60 including Trent Bridge and Loughborough Road.

This work will mean the closure of that part of the A60 to all traffic and as a result Navy & Green line services will need to be diverted from Monday 15th July 2019 until Thursday 1st August 2019* inclusive (19:00 until 05:00 each night)

On 18, 24 & 27 July 2019 works will be suspended due to Twenty20 matches

The following services are affected: 1, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, N4 & N6 :

  • Buses towards Clifton, West Bridgford, Ruddington and Lady Bay are affected the most
  • Most buses away from the City will divert via Cattle Market Road and Lady Bay Bridge, except South Notts 1 and N4 which will divert via Queens Drive and Clifton Bridge
  • There will be no direct service from the Meadows, Trent Bridge, County Hall or Loughborough Road towards Clifton, Gotham, East Leake or Loughborough on South Notts 1
  • No buses can serve Trent Bridge, Victoria Embankment, Cricket Ground or County Hall stops towards Clifton, West Bridgford or Ruddington
  • Stops towards the City on 1, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, N4 are generally served as normal, except “Cricket Ground” on Bridgford Road which will be missed
  • There will be no evening service on Bathley Street or Wilford Grove on Green 11 after 19:00 – customers need to walk to Meadows Way or Bridgeway Centre for other services
  • Delays are expected across these routes because diversion routes are longer and will take more time to follow – additional buses will be on standby to keep delays to a minimum

The diversions are as follows:

South Notts 1 and N4 towards Clifton

Buses will follow their normal route until the Railway Station. Buses will then divert via Crocus Street, Waterway Street, Queens Drive and Clifton Bridge North to resume their normal route from Silverdale.

There will be no direct service from the Meadows, Trent Bridge, County Hall or Loughborough Road towards Clifton, Gotham, East Leake or Loughborough on South Notts 1.

Customers are advised to cross the road and catch the bus towards Nottingham and stay on the bus when it departs for its next journey.

Buses departing Wilford Green towards Nottingham at 15 minutes past the hour will run as far as Gotham on their next journey. Buses departing at 45 minutes past each hour run through to East Leake or Loughborough. The last bus will run along Wilford Lane at 23:45 towards City.

For customers from City to Wilford Lane, a Shuttle Bus 1A will operate along Wilford Lane and terminate at Clifton Bridge South. This will depart the City at 19:30, 20:30, 21:30, 22:30 and 23:30** (** Not Sun).

South Notts 1 and N4 towards City

No diversion, buses will follow their normal route

Green 6, 7, 8, 9 towards City

As buses travel along Bridgford Road and reach the Cricket Ground, they will divert LEFT via Musters Road, right Melton Road, continue along Loughborough Road to resume normal route from Trent Bridge.

The “Cricket Ground” named stop won’t be served. Please use the stop outside County Hall as an alternative.

Green 6 and N6 towards Edwalton

Buses will follow their normal route along Meadows Way then divert via left Ryehill Street, left London Road, right Cattle Market Road, continue County Road, Meadow Lane, right Lady Bay Bridge, continue Radcliffe Road, right Abbey Road, left Davies Road to Tudor Square. Buses will turn left on to Gordon Road to resume normal route.

Stops on Bridgford Road and Central Avenue Shops won’t be served. Please use stops on Gordon Road, near The Test Match PH.

Green 7, 8, 9, 9B towards Gamston or Wilford Hill

Buses will follow their normal route along Meadows Way then divert via left Ryehill Street, left London Road, right Cattle Market Road, continue County Road, Meadow Lane, right Lady Bay Bridge, right Radcliffe Road, left Fox Road, continue Hound Road, left Bridgford Road to resume normal route.

Green 10 towards Ruddington

Buses will follow their normal route along Meadows Way then divert via left Ryehill Street, left London Road, right Cattle Market Road, continue County Road, Meadow Lane, right Lady Bay Bridge, continue Radcliffe Road, right Abbey Road, left Davies Road to Tudor Square. Buses will continue along Rectory Road, right Melton Road, left Loughborough Road to resume normal route.

Green 10 and N6 towards City

No diversion, buses will follow their normal route

Green 11 towards Lady Bay

Buses will follow their normal route through The Meadows as far as the end of Bathley Street. Buses will then turn left Meadows Way, right Ryehill Street, left London Road, right Cattle Market Road, continue County Road, Meadow Lane, right Lady Bay Bridge then left Trent Boulevard to resume normal route.

Green 11 towards City

Buses will follow their normal route to the end of Trent Boulevard. Buses will then divert right via Lady Bay Bridge, left Meadow Lane, right County Road, continue Cattle Market Road, right London Road, Bellar Gate, Belward Street to Victoria Centre.

There will be no evening service on Bathley Street or Wilford Grove on Green 11 after 19:00 – customers need to walk to Meadows Way or Bridgeway Centre for other services.

In the City Centre, these buses won’t serve George Street or Fletcher Gate.
