Head Coach Steve Cooper says he wants his players to believe ahead of Sunday’s Emirates FA Cup quarter final tie against Liverpool at The City Ground.
The Reds host Jürgen Klopp’s side this weekend infront of a sell-out crowd and have defeated Arsenal, Leicester City and Huddersfield Town on the way to the last-eight.
Forest come into the fixture off the back of two important league victories, defeating Reading 4-0 before coming from behind to beat QPR 3-1 on Wednesday evening.
And Cooper has challenged his players to believe they can match Liverpool under The City Ground lights on Sunday evening.
“The objective throughout the cup competitions is always to progress into the next round and Sunday’s game is one we’re really looking forward to.
“Liverpool have been brilliant to watch and we all admire the way they play. It’s one of the toughest games you can play, so we’re going to have to be ready for it.
“We understand it is a little bit different this time because of the level of the opponent, but we can’t change our approach and we still want to get success in the game.
“Every day I’m asking the players to be the best version of themselves, to be winners, to give their best and to train and play the way we want to play.
“We’ll be focusing on what we do and how we play, backing ourselves and understanding the challenge that lies ahead.”
