The driver called 999.
The incident on the M1 motorway led to police seizing the driver’s car.
During a pursuit on the motorway the marked police vehicle tried to get the car to stop – but the driver called 999 saying later that he didn’t believe that the car following him was a genuine police vehicle.
Derbyshire Police said:

‘M1. Driver of this Astra pictured failed to stop for a couple of motorway junctions and rang 999 to say he didn’t believe we were police.
Our vehicle we tried to stop him with is also pictured… No licence or insurance.’
