FASHANNE Awards founder and BBC East Midlands Today presenter, Anne Davies has announced that the East Midlands student fashion awards will return to Nottingham in 2020.
With a year to go, these awards have now been redesigned to provide an even stronger bridge from education to employability for the best talent from across the top East Midlands universities.
Taking place on the 29th and 30th April 2020, FASHANNE has previously welcomed over 500 people and seen TV presenter, Gok Wan and The BBC’s Great British Sowing Bee Judge, Patrick Grant take the helm as lead judges. Championing diversity both on and off the catwalk, paralympian Richard Whitehead, BBC weather presenter, Lucy Martin and Sian Green-Lord were also stars of the runway. For 2020, organisers are pulling out all the stops to make FASHANNE another unforgettable event.
The first details have now been revealed as part of a new website launch including the announcement that next year’s event is now a two-day extravaganza.
On the 29th April, for the first time, students will be able to take part in a series of fashion workshops, including photography, sustainability and wellbeing. The day will finish with a special Fashion Question Time open to all, with high-profile industry leaders, including representatives from ASOS and the Pentland Group on the panel.
The popular fashion awards will then take place the following evening on 30th April at St Mary’s Church in the Lace Market, with models taking to the catwalk to show off the upcoming trends and the students’ innovative designs.
BBC East Midlands Today presenter, Anne Davies founded the awards in 2016. She said: “FASHANNE is always a well-attended event with leading fashion experts, talented design students, local businesses and the public coming together to enjoy an evening of fashion, and the latest talent from across the region. Previous winners have gone on to work for the likes of All Saints, Hugo Boss and indeed themselves, and this year, we are delighted to announce that our nine winners will also receive a paid internship at the sponsor’s fashion powerhouse, helping to enhance their career.
“This year will also be bigger and better than ever before. We are excited to be offering a day of specialist workshops providing attendees with a unique insight into the world of fashion, with some of the most influential leaders in the industry offering their views, opinions and ideas.”
Tickets to the fashion show are priced at £30 and to the Fashion Question Time at £15. Both are now available to buy from the FASHANNE website. Gold, Silver and bronze sponsorship packages are also available. For more information, please visit: https://www.fashanne.com/
