Nottinghamshire Hospice has revealed the latest addition to its network of charity shops, securing a new premises at Unit 4, Villa Street in Beeston.
The deal was successfully completed by the team NG Chartered Surveyors, who act as the retained property advisors to the hospice.
The new shop is part of the hospice’s ongoing expansion plans across Nottinghamshire, with NG Chartered Surveyors leading the search and negotiation for suitable retail locations. The Beeston deal was agreed in partnership with FHP Property Consultants, with the unit let by Dom Alston at FHP and Alicia Lewis at NG on behalf of the hospice.
Paula Watkins, Retail Operations Manager at Nottinghamshire Hospice, said: “As a local Nottinghamshire charity, we have been looking for the perfect local community for our next charity shop. Beeston was high up on our list, so when the opportunity on Villa Street came up, we were delighted.
“This move is more than just a new location – the profits from our Beeston shop will directly support our palliative and end-of-life care services across the county. It means we can be there for more patients and families when they need us most.”
Reflecting on the partnership with NG Chartered Surveyors, Paula added: “Alicia has been incredibly supportive and understanding of our needs throughout the process. It’s been a real partnership – and that’s so important to us as a charity.”
Alicia Lewis, Surveyor at NG Chartered Surveyors, said: “It’s been a pleasure to work with Nottinghamshire Hospice on their ongoing retail expansion. We’re proud to support such an important local charity by helping them grow their high street presence. Beeston is a fantastic location with a strong sense of community, and we’re confident the new store will be a great success.
“The Beeston shop marks another step forward for Nottinghamshire Hospice’s mission to generate vital income through its retail operations, ensuring its services can continue to reach those who need them most.”
NG have acted for the Hospice for the past two-and-a-half years and have been involved in a wide range of collaborative work across their property portfolio. This has included lease renewals, rent reviews, bespoke asset management matters and a detailed assessment of other trading locations to support their strategic growth.
NG Building Consultancy provided pre-lease advice on the condition of the building, including the preparation of a Schedule of Condition, to help mitigate potential future dilapidations claims from the landlord.
