Fire at Attenborough causing severe Nottingham and Derby rail disruption

FIRST PUBLISHED

There is a fire next to the track at Attenborough which is disrupting trains on the London St Pancras/Nottingham, Nottingham – Derby – Matlock and Leicester – Lincoln routes.

5: 22 pm The line has now reopened our train services are now able to run past Attenborough. Delays can be expected up to 60 minutes between Nottingham/Derby and Nottingham/Leicester.

Some of our train crew may out of place through being held up in the service disruption, as a result some of our services have been partially cancelled.

5pm 22 May – At present Network Rail are expected on site at 1650. The emergency services are now on site and will assist Network Rail.

East Midlands Trains said:

‘No train routes can run between Nottingham and East Midlands Parkway, Nottingham and Derby in both directions.

‘Where possible diversionary routes will be used to run trains in and out of Nottingham Station.

‘We currently have no estimate when the line will reopen.’

The following ticket acceptance has been put in place to keep you on the move

You may travel to Grantham where you should change for a train to London Kings Cross

Cross Country
If you are travelling to Nottingham you may use your tickets between Derby and Chesterfield. Our services between Chesterfield and Nottingham remain unaffected by the fire.
