The Trent Barton Skylink vehicle was dealt with by Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service.
A spokesperson for Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service said:
‘Earlier this afternoon Tuesday 25 March we were mobilised to a bus fire at the junction of Charnwood road and Ashby Road in Shepshed.
‘Fortunately the driver and passengers all made it safely off the bus in time before the fire spread. Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service Castle Donington Station and Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service Loughborough Station were also in attendance to deal with this incident swiftly and safely.
‘Breathing apparatus were used to extinguish the fire before firefighters wearing respirators dampened down and monitored any hotspots.
‘This incident caught a lot of attention and we know caused disruption but we thank those nearby for your cooperation.’
