Fire crews from Southwell attended the incident this morning Friday 15 October.
Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service said:
‘In the early hours of this morning, Southwell fire crews attended a haystack fire on the outskirts of Newark.
‘The fire has been detained within its area and left to burn out safety.’
Other incidents over the last 24 hours included at 11:52 pm on 14 October crews from West Bridgford and Highfields attended Thistledown Road, Clifton, this was a fire in the bathroom and hall, two breathing apparatus and a hosereel jet were used to extinguish the fire and a ppv fan for smoke clearance.
At 8:32 pm on 14 October crews from Mansfield and Ashfield attended a house fire on Spinners Close, Mansfield, a hose reel jet, two breathing apparatus were used to extinguish the fire, police were also in attendance.
