A forty-year-old man, twenty-nine-year-old woman and three-year-old child and two month baby were accounted for within 15 minutes.
They were rescued from the detached property using a nine-metre ladder.
Three fire engines from Arnold, Stockhill and Hucknall stations attended the scene.
Crews used a hose reel jet, breathing apparatuses and a thermal imaging camera to extinguish the fire.
The residents were assisted by paramedics at the scene and are currently undergoing further checks at Queens Medical Centre.
Paul Harley, Arnold Station Manager, said: “I was extremely proud of the efforts and professionalism demonstrated by all the crews.
“The simultaneous actions of rescuing a family of four from the first floor bedroom window, and committing a breathing apparatus team into the ground floor of the property to extinguish the fire, shows the high-pressured situation that crews faced on arrival.
“The en-route information to crews and the fire survival guidance given to the family over the phone by Joint Fire Control must also be praised as this contributed to the successful rescues of all persons.
“Thankfully all the family are well, but this incident reminds us of the importance of having working smoke alarms in your property. An early warning of smoke and fire really can be the difference between exiting the property unaided or requiring rescue.”
