Plumes of smoke are causing potential safety problems for traffic.
Update at 7:09 pm
Update: The A52 has now reopened in both directions. If you’re driving through the area make sure your windows are closed. Abbeyfield Road remains closed and we still want to remind people to avoid the area if possible.
Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service said at 3:40 pm on 31 January:
‘Due to the scale of this incident and smoke plume the A52 North and South from Clifton Bridge to Dunkirk will be closed.
‘We’ll be working with our partners at Highways England and the Police.
‘Thank you for your patience and understanding as we deal with the fire.
