Fire crews were called to a vehicle fire in Bramcote.
Firefighters on their way to work on Saturday morning said:
“As soon as I came out the front door I could see the smoke” and “As I drove down the hill, I knew we had a job as I could see a dirty black cloud of smoke issuing”
Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service Fire Control took three 999 calls to a report of a vehicle fire on Derby Road Bramcote at 06:31, in less than one minute mobilised a crew from Stapleford to deal with the incident.
The team of six quickly dealt with the blaze, using breathing apparatus, thermal imaging cameras and high-pressure hose reels.
There were some delays to transport and local bus services as the road was closed for roughly one hour.
A spokesperson for Stapleford Fire Station said:
‘We thank you and our partners (such as Trent Barton) for your patience and understanding.
‘There were no reports of any injuries and the incident was handed over to the owner and police just after 8 am this morning.’
