Firefighters from Retford released the distressed animal.
A spokesperson for Retford Fire Station said:
‘Deer oh deer what a predicament.
‘Black Watch Retford to the rescue.

‘Released safely.
‘Our thanks to Portland house veterinary services for their assistance.’

It’s not unusual for fire crews to be called out for animal rescues.

In September firefighters from Ashfield Fire Station rescued a hedgehog that had fallen down a hole.

Also in September 2022, Crews from Carlton and Warsop Fire Station rescued a horse that had fell into a ditch in Gunthorpe.

In July crews from London Road, Highfields, Newark and East Leake rescued a horse that had become stuck in a ditch off Regatta Way in West Bridgford.
