Clyde had slipped in to the ditch and was stuck there for four hours.
Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service said:
‘Firefighters from Retford, Newark and Warsop rescued Clyde the horse, who had been trapped for 4 hours.
‘The rescue took around 50 minutes and crews were kindly assisted by a local farmer.
‘Clyde was unhurt and checked over by the vet once rescued from the ditch.’
