Ohannes Burger opened their first store in Arnold in 2019, and is expanding with their 5th branch set to open in April in West Bridgford.
Ohannes Burger UK has completely revamped Zinc on Central Avenue, which will be offering takeaway, home delivery and collection initially with space for sit-down and limited alfresco dining once it’s allowed under new regulations.
The bold brand adds some colour to the strip and the interior decor (including a bespoke hand-painted mural) really adds a new lease of life, offering an exciting fresh start to the location.
“We’re excited to bring the unique taste of Ohannes Burger to the people of West Bridgford, great tasting food, served in a family-friendly environment. We pride ourselves on creating the ultimate ‘guilt-free’ burger, using only the finest ingredients, in fact everything except the bun is handmade with no additives.”
The burgers, which come in a pretzel bun, are made using 100% local beef.
Alternatively, there’s a veggie burger with soy and wheat protein and caramelised onions.
The unique globally-inspired tastes have already proved popular with Nottingham-based customers and they have a loyal social media following.
The handmade patties are prepared by local butchers, and the famous aioli (garlic mayo) is produced daily, and has quickly become almost as famous as the burgers, creating the perfect partner to their seasoned fries.
Offering 14 different types, burger lovers can get stuck into everything from a classic cheeseburger to pulled beef, with salsa, red kidney beans and jalapenos or a peri-peri chicken burger.
A distinct taste difference you’ll notice is the flame-grilled taste of the burgers that comes from the burgers being cooked to perfection on a grill rather than a flat plate that some fast-food chains use.
Sides include fries, mozzarella sticks, onion rings and spicy buttermilk chicken strips.
They have worked closely with Rushcliffe Borough Council to ensure strict Covid-measures are in place and customers will be asked to always wear masks (unless exempt) when collecting orders, and to queue only on marked distanced areas – with separate lines for delivery drivers and customers.
Cameras have been installed to ensure that those who collect food leave promptly and don’t loiter on the pavement.
Customers and drivers will not be allowed in the branch until further discussions are held with the Council on how to manage numbers safely.
They are hoping that the warmer weather continues so people can pre-order food and enjoy it in the local park in a safe way.
As well as boosting business in the area, the branch has provided 6 new job opportunities and are still recruiting, if you’re interested in joining the team email your CV to email@example.com.
There are a variety of roles available including weekend work and grill chefs.
The franchise opened its first branch in the UK last November in Arnold.
