Police are appealing for information and witnesses after five airsoft rifles were stolen from a car.
The incident is believed to have happened in Helston Drive, Bilborough at around 5.20 pm yesterday afternoon (31 August 2021).
A black Honda HR-V VTEC’s rear windows were smashed in the incident and it is reported that five airsoft weapons were stolen from inside. The items are legitimately owned and used for a hobby.
No one is thought to have been injured in the incident and officers are now working to establish the circumstances.
Inspector Gordon Fenwick, from Nottinghamshire Police, said: “An investigation has been launched to find both the airsoft rifles and those responsible for this.
“Obviously it is very concerning that these could now go on to be used to threaten or intimidate people in further crime, which is a serious offence. However, each item has a unique serial number that can be used to track them down, which we will be exploring as part of our investigation.
“I’d now appeal for anyone who may have seen or heard something suspicious in the area at the time to come forward.
“Any information you have could go a long way to helping us find who did this.”
Anyone who witnessed the incident should contact Nottinghamshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 543 of 31 August 2021.
