River levels are rising at the Colwick river gauge as a result of persistent heavy rainfall.
The Environment Agency said:
‘Consequently, flooding to roads and farmland is expected between 05:00 and 07:00 this morning, 07/01/2025. Areas most at risk are Attenborough Nature Reserve. No further rainfall is forecast. We expect river levels to remain high until Friday 10/01/2025.
‘We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are patrolling watercourses in the area.
‘Please move possessions and valuables off the ground or to safety and avoid contact with flood water.
‘This message will be updated by 12:00 noon, 07/01/2025, or as the situation changes.’
