River levels are rising at the Colwick river gauge as a result of persistent heavy rainfall.
The Environment Agency said:
‘Consequently, flooding to roads and farmland is expected between 04:00 and 06:00 this morning, 07/01/2025. Areas most at risk are Holme Pierrepont, National Water Sports Centre.
‘No further rainfall is forecast. We expect river levels to remain high until the end of this week.
‘We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are patrolling watercourses in the area.’
‘Please move possessions and valuables off the ground or to safety and avoid contact with flood water.
‘This message will be updated by 12:00 this afternoon, 07/01/2025, or as the situation changes.’
