There are problems on the East Midlands Railway network because of flooding this morning.
East Midlands Railway said at 6:53 am on Monday 6 January:
‘Heavy rain has flooded the railway between Grantham and Nottingham. There is no alternative route available at this time. Trains on some of our routes cannot run. We are looking at alternative arrangements. Check your journey before travelling.’
‘There is flooding at Elton & Orston. This is between Nottingham and Grantham and is disrupting our trains on the Nottingham/Grantham/Skegness and Liverpool Lime Street/Nottingham/Noriwch routes.’
Network Rail are on their way to investigate the problem.
‘Trains running through the area in the Grantham direction cannot run between Nottingham and Grantham.
‘Trains running through the area in the Nottingham direction cannot run between Grantham and Nottingham.
‘Where possible, trains on our Liverpool Lime Street/Nottingham/Noriwch route will divert via an alternative route between Nottingham and Peterborough and not call at Grantham.’
