Floods: Drone views show Holme near Newark completely cut off by road

The village of Holme near Newark is cut off from Nottinghamshire by road because of serious flooding, with warnings still in force for the area.

Newark District Council has issued this urgent update for possible flooding communities in:

  • Collingham
  • Girton
  • High Marnham
  • Low Marnham
  • Besthorpe
  • Sutton-On-Trent
  • Cromwell
  • Spalford, Wigsley and Harby
  • North and South Clifton

River levels remain high but are starting to falling at the Colwick river gauge as a result of Storm Henk. Consequently, the risk of flooding remains. Areas most at risk are the access at Holme including Holme Village.

Further light rainfall is forecast over the next 24 hours. We expect river levels to remain high until Sunday 07/01/2024.
