A disused pub in Nottingham will be demolished and replaced with family homes.
The Mill in Bagnall Road, Basford, was put on the market for £350,000 in February, last year, after a period of difficult trading.
In May, plans were submitted by The Mill Nottingham Ltd to transform the site and use it for nine new family homes.
Nottingham City Council has since approved the plans.
Two types of home will be built, including six three-bedroom semi-detached properties to the west, and three four-bedroom detached properties to the east.
The detached homes will benefit from two parking spaces, a garage, and larger gardens.
The semi-detached homes will come with one off-road parking space each.
All homes will also feature electric vehicle charging points.
“The proposed dwellings will be two storeys in height and will feature a traditional design, with pitched roofs, porches, bay windows and a regular
glazing arrangement to create a sense of rhythm and regularity across the site,” planning documents add.
The pub was originally developed in the late 1960s and early 1970s by Home Brewery.
In total, 35 neighbouring properties were told about the plans, with two objections raised in relation to their homes being overlooked, property values decreasing, and traffic concerns.
The developer now has three years to commence work on the site. A number of conditions are attached, including a construction traffic management plan, as well as a detailed plan on surface water drainage.
