A former office building in Nottingham is set to receive a new lease of life after plans were revealed to turn the space into a hair salon.
Acting on behalf of a private landlord, Ellis Cullen of NG Chartered Surveyors has let the second floor of Goeland House on St Albans Road in the Daybrook area of Nottingham to SKH Hair, who will open The Venu Hair Studio .
The newly-refurbished space will be home to a new 1,500 sq ft salon when it opens later this year.
Kelly Beedham of SKH Hair said: “Goeland House is an amazing building with stunning windows and plenty of light – it has huge potential.
“The space is fantastic and after becoming used to working under strict Covid guidelines I think a lot of people feel reassured by still being spaced apart.
“We feel it’s extra security with having an intercom service to allow people into the building, making it safer for our staff and customers.
“We love the thought of it being like a hidden gem and making our clients feel like it’s exclusive.”
Kelly added that the letting will mean that she and her team will be able to grow as a team and move forward with the way they want to work.
She said: “We’re creating a beautiful brand new salon for everyone to work in and for all our current and future customers to visit.”
Ellis Cullen said: “It takes real foresight to be able to envision turning an office space into something completely different, and I’d like to wish Kelly and her team all the best for the future.
“This deal demonstrates perfectly that a flexible, progressive landlord can attract a great tenant if they think outside the box. This is a great result for all concerned.”
Kelly added: “We needed to access the building a few times to make sure it was suitable for our business. Ellis and Sunny from NG were accommodating and arranged to meet us on a couple of Sundays which I believe was out of their working hours.
“Moving your business is a big deal, especially in times like this. Ellis has always been good at communicating with us via emails and has really helped us move forward with this property.”
