Four more people have been arrested in connection with a stabbing.
Two 16-year-old boys were left with injuries to their head and neck after being attacked with a machete.
Both boys required treatment for injuries not thought to be life-altering and have since been discharged home from hospital.
Multiple people are understood to have been involved in the fight in The Green, Bilsthorpe, Newark, on Saturday (12 March 2022).
Four boys, aged 15, 16, 16 and 16, were all arrested on suspicion of affray on Monday (14 March 2022), after officers uncovered new information as part of the investigation.
Two other boys, aged 15 and 16, had already been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.
All six boys have been bailed with conditions as enquiries continue.
Detective Sergeant Matt Dumbrell, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “We have now arrested four more suspects in connection with this extremely serious incident.
“Cases such as this are precisely why we are so committed as a force to stopping all incidents of knife crime and preventing people in our communities from getting hurt.
“Two teenagers required hospital treatment following this incident, but it is no exaggeration at all to say that it is only because of good fortune that their injuries were not much more serious.
“We have now arrested six people as part of this investigation, which should send out a strong message to everyone that this type of behaviour will never be tolerated.
“While no further suspects are being sought at this time, our enquiries are still ongoing.
“With this in mind, we’d ask anyone who witnessed what happened, or who knows anything that could assist us with the investigation, to get in touch immediately.”
