Four teenagers were arrested after a stabbing in Nottingham city centre.
Police were called shortly after 1.30am this morning (Sunday) to the incident in Chapel Bar after a 17-year-old boy was stabbed in the stomach.
Four boys, three aged 17 and one aged 16, were arrested shortly afterwards on suspicion of assault and remain in police custody.
The victim is in a stable condition in hospital, but his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening or life-altering.
Detective Sergeant Nigel Malik, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “This was a violent assault which could easily have led to a far more serious outcome for everyone involved. Officers were on the scene within minutes and arrested four suspects shortly afterwards
“Our investigation remains at an early stage and I would urge anyone with additional information to come forward and speak to us at the earliest opportunity.
“Incidents of this type remain rare but we understand the significant concern they can cause. I would like to reassure residents that we are working every day to target people who carry weapons on our streets and to work proactively with groups to prevent offences from happening.”
