Four arrests after city assaults leave two in hospital

Four people have been arrested following an incident that left two people in hospital.

Officers were called to Milton Street, in Nottingham city centre, at around 3.45am today (26 June) following reports of a disturbance in the area.

Police took one man to Queen’s Medical Centre and a second man thought to be injured during the same incident arrived at the hospital a short time later.

Both men have been treated for injuries that are not life-altering or life-threatening and remain in hospital.

Police cordons were quickly set up in Milton Street, Upper Parliament Street, Clumber Street and Clinton Street while evidence was gathered.

Meanwhile, four men aged 19, 25, 28 and 31 were this morning arrested on suspicion of violent disorder.

Detective Inspector James McDonagh, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “A team of detectives is working incredibly hard to establish the circumstances of this incident and those enquiries are ongoing.

“As these arrests show, the force treats reports of violence extremely seriously and we will always take swift action to investigate and track down suspects.

“While we have made three arrests we would still like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who may have CCTV, dash-cam or mobile phone footage which could assist us with our ongoing investigation.”

Anyone with any information is urged to call Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 125 of 26 June 2022, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
