Nottingham Rugby will make the trip up the A1 tomorrow to face Premiership side Newcastle Falcons in their first preseason friendly ahead of the 2018/19 Greene King IPA Championship campaign.

Head Coach Neil Fowkes is looking forward to seeing how his side fare against quality opposition in what will be the first game in his new role as Head Coach after more than 20 years at the club.

Speaking to NRTV, he said: “The lads have been working incredibly hard in preseason and I am so pleased with their progress.

“However, it’s what happens on the pitch that counts and Falcons will prove to be a massive test for the players.

“It’s great for the team to see how they play against one of the best teams in the country but we should also remember that this fixture is as much about match fitness as it is results.”

Fowkes is taking a 29-man squad to Tyneside with the intention of every player getting match minutes under their belts.

“These fixtures are a fantastic way for us test particular aspects of our game, I’m confident in our team and I’m sure it’ll be an excellent game for our squad,” added Fowkes.

Kicking off at 3pm at Kingston Park, tickets start at just £5 and are available here.
