Free Nottinghamshire activities to enjoy from home this February half term

Nottinghamshire County Council has highlighted a variety of free online events and activity ideas for the whole family to enjoy during the February half term school holiday.

Nottinghamshire, along with the rest of the country remains under national lockdown restrictions this half term. You must stay at home unless leaving your house for an essential reason.

The ‘School Half Term Activities and Inspiration’ webpage features a range of fun activities for families that can be enjoyed from home. From reading and leisure to enjoying great outdoors safely, parents and grandparents can browse through a variety of activities for school holiday ideas.

Join Little Owl as he journeys deep into the rainforest and help him rescue the amazing animals he finds there.

A playful and interactive online storytelling adventure for children aged 2 – 5, presented by Inspire: Culture Learning and Libraries in association with Nottingham Playhouse.

There’s so much to enjoy outdoors, without leaving your local area. Notts Outdoors are sharing lots of fun resources and activities including orienteering and the RSPB big birdwatch on their social media pages.

 

Audio Drama: The Girl of Ink and Stars

The Spark Arts for Children in association with Inspire: Culture, Learning and Libraries present The Girl of Ink and Stars, a play by Satinder Chohan, based on the book by Kiran Millwood Hargrave.

A gripping audio drama performed over three podcasts, The Girl of Ink and Stars is a story of myth, magic and the power of friendship.

We’re Going on a Story Hunt! with John Kirk
19 February 2021, 11am – 11.30am

Join Inspire: Culture, Learning and Libraries for a scavenger hunt around your home finished with a story told by the fabulous storyteller John Kirk.

Suitable for families with children aged 3 – 7 this free interactive session will include the retelling of a popular fairy tale.
