Free pop-up pumpkin patch event on Central Avenue West Bridgford

There will be a free pop-up pumpkin event on the Croquet Lawn in West Bridgford on Saturday October 30.

The event runs from 11 am until 4 pm for those who wish to craft a spooky pumpkin to get into the Halloween spirit, courtesy of the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).

Rushcliffe Borough Council are hosting the ghoulish session for all ages to come and have a go at carving their own creation and receive tips and skills from a local artist who can highlight great techniques to make you proud of your pumpkin!

There will also be a ‘find the pumpkin’ Halloween trail for children and families where participants who complete the trail can receive a Halloween themed goody bag.

Residents are encouraged to bring their own pumpkin and requested to hollow them out at home before they arrive so they can start carving without delay to create a feature that would take pride of place in any window or door.

Left over pumpkin carved out from the items will be turned into delicious treats by a local kitchen. Pancakes and cupcakes will be available for those looking for some Halloween snacks and costumed street performers, The Howlers, will entertain the crowds and continue the spooky spirit throughout the event.

Everyone attending is encouraged to wear their own Halloween costumes with photo opportunities available on the pumpkin style patch Croquet Lawn so that residents can show off their spooky outfits.

Rushcliffe Borough Council’s Cabinet Portfolio Holder for Communities and Climate Change Cllr Abby Brennan said: “Come along to what promises to be a great event for young and old to enjoy and create a pumpkin that stands out this Halloween!

“We’re aware pumpkin carving and Halloween are increasingly popular for residents, so we’re delighted to introduce this safe event and welcome everyone to get creative and enjoy the trail.

“Please bring along your own pumpkin already carved out and make sure any leftovers you recycle at home.
