Householders across Rushcliffe can now celebrate the forthcoming Platinum Jubilee with two free biodegradable mini Union Jack flags available from Rushcliffe Borough Council Customer Service centres whilst stocks last!
Thousands of flags are now available to pick up to help residents wave and cheer on the celebrations across the four days from June 2-5.
They can add a further splash of British colour whether at home, at a community event or when visiting the Platinum Jubilee Street Party event in West Bridgford on Sunday June 5 from 11am to 4pm!
The 100% biodegradable flags are able to be composted at home and two per household are available that can be collected during opening hours between now and Wednesday June 1 at:
- Rushcliffe Customer Service Centre, Fountain Court, Gordon Road, West Bridgford, NG2 5LN
Mondays and Thursdays 8.30am-5pm, Fridays 8.30am-4.30pm
- Cotgrave Hub, Rivermead, Cotgrave, NG12 3UQ
Mondays 8.30am-5.30pm
- East Leake Library, Gotham Road, East Leake, LE12 6JG.
Wednesdays 8.30am-12.30pm
- Bingham Medical Centre, Newgate Street, Bingham NG13 8FD
Thursdays 9.30am-5pm
The Jubilee Street Party event takes place on Central Avenue in West Bridgford and to celebrate Her Majesty The Queen’s 70 years on the throne!
In line with the national The Big Jubilee Lunch on Sunday June 5 picnic benches will line the high street which will be closed to traffic, inviting families, groups and individuals to bring their own picnic or order food or drink from great local cafés and restaurants.
Event goers can also enjoy the event’s food stalls, barbecue and bar and an entertainment programme will give the crowds plenty to sing-a-long to and enjoy on the street, adjacent Croquet Lawn or mini stage, including:
