Lidl employees at the store named the frog Lloyd – they told the RSPCA that it was sitting on top of the bananas as they started to stack the fruit onto shelves.

Lloyd is now in the care of a vet who specialises in exotic animals.

RSPCA Nottingham officer Hayley Day said the supermarket staff “seemed quite taken with him”.
