FTM Dance celebrates first year in West Bridgford

April marks a year since FTM Dance brought its accessible and inclusive performing arts services to young people and adults in Nottinghamshire.

Over the past year, FTM has delivered immersive classes at the West Bridgford Young Peoples Centre in Rushcliffe and Rosehill School supporting over 150 children and young people with additional needs.

Each class is designed to help participants meet developmental goals and gain independence, all while getting creative and having plenty of fun.

FTM’s unique proactive care model not only gives families much needed respite time, but its dance and drama sessions promote physical and social skills and enable creative expression, enhancing wellbeing for participants.

Over the last year, the team at FTM has offered interactive classes with their dance and drama teachers, as well as operating safely through the Covid-19 pandemic restrictions.

Leanne Evans, founder of FTM Dance says: “We’ve had a wonderful year in Nottinghamshire, and are delighted to deliver a positive, person-led approach which is proven to help participants get creative and have fun.

“I want to extend a huge thank you to our amazing staff, who have had to navigate Covid restrictions and guidance to keep everyone safe, ensuring all the children and young adults we work with have a rewarding experience.

“Like the wider care industry, we grapple with the need to attract great people. We’d love to talk to creative, caring people about the opportunities within FTM – to make a real difference to people’s lives in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire.”
