Fuel tank on fire as service attend car fire in Nottinghamshire

Stapleford Fire Station attended the blaze in Harte Avenue, Sandiacre.

Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service Stapleford station said:

‘Last weekend, as we returned to our station following another incident.

‘We were mobilised to a report of a car on fire, on Harte Avenue Sandiacre.

‘Arriving we found the vehicle on fire, the occupants had a close call as they escaped just as the flames took hold.

‘Some local people attempted to fight the fire using a dry powder extinguisher.

‘A number of “bangs” were heard as the fuel tank caught fire.

‘Firefighters wore breathing apparatus sets and used high pressure hose reel jets to stop the blaze.’
