East Midlands Cheerleading Academy (EMCA) in Nottingham is having a fundraising ball to celebrate their 10th birthday.

The academy, registered charity no. 1154233, was founded by Anna Mead and Helena Zarzycki who met when they were both members of the Nottingham University cheerleading squad in October 2006.

Their love for cheerleading and talent for coaching lead them to establish EMCA in the summer of 2008. The club has gone from strength to strength and now has 11 competition squads all named after Queen songs who compete, with over 200 boys and girls now at the club and the trophy cabinet is bursting.
