The Local Government Boundary Commission is proposing new boundaries for seven council wards in two parts of the borough.
The first is the North-Eastern section of the borough, covering the Bingham North, Bingham South, Cranmer, East Bridgford, and Newton wards. The second covers the South-East of the borough, containing Cropwell, and Nevile & Langar wards.

It is proposing that there should be two single-councillor wards in South-Eastern Rushcliffe; and two two-councillor wards and three single-councillor
Proposed changes include:
- Four single member wards surrounding the town of Bingham in opposed to two large two-member wards.
Launching the consultation Professor Colin Mellors, Chair of the Commission, said:

“We have drawn up further proposals for new wards in the North-East and South-East of the borough. We want to make sure these new electoral arrangements reflect communities. We also want them to be easy to understand and convenient for local people.
“Residents and local organisations can help us do that. We would like them to let us know whether they agree with our proposals before we take final decisions.
