PUBLISHED:

Specsavers Nottingham is raising awareness of hearing loss during Deaf Awareness Week, by running a competition to name the stores Giant Ear to raise money for the charity Hearing Dogs for Deaf people.

From 6th to 12th May, people can put forward suggestions for names for the stores Giant Ear, donating 50p for one name or three names for £1 to Hearing Dogs. The winner will be announced on Monday 13th May and will be presented with a Thorntons chocolate trophy with the Gaint Ears name iced on.

Hearing Dogs help a deaf person regain their confidence to reconnect with family & friends & alert them to life saving sounds such as fire alarms.

At Specsavers Nottingham we know how important it is to have regular hearing screeners, which is why we offer this free service with every sight test. We are also happy to be able to sponsor a hearing dog this year, who will be an invaluable help to someone & a great companion.

The Giant Ear will be out in Nottingham on Saturday 11th May, for anyone who would like to come down and take selfies and enter our competition, whilst raising money for a great cause.
