‘A 14-year-old girl, who can’t be named for legal reasons, has been charged with assault. She has been released on conditional bail to appear at Nottingham Youth Court on 22 August 2018.

‘A 16-year-old girl was arrested on suspicion of assault and has been subsequently released under investigation.

‘A 13-year-old girl was voluntarily interviewed and has been released under investigation.

‘It relates to a report that a 14-year-old girl had been assaulted in the tennis courts of Bingham Leisure Centre at around 5.30pm on Wednesday 1 August 2018.

‘We’d like to remind people that this is an ongoing investigation and legal proceedings are active.

‘As such we would urge people to be careful when posting any prejudicial comments on social media as these could place you in contempt of court.

‘We’d also remind people that no details should be published which could lead to any of the juveniles concerned in this case being identified. Anyone doing so would be committing a criminal offence.’
