Global web giant GoDaddy has signed a ten-year lease for 26,800 sq ft of Grade A office accommodation at Beeston Business Park, Nottingham, in a move that could create up to 110 jobs by the end of the year.
A joint venture between industrial developer and asset manager Chancerygate and private funds manager Bridges Fund Management leased the office accommodation to GoDaddy. The deal has seen GoDaddy relocate all its current 190 staff from Nottingham city-centre to Waterfront House at Beeston Business Park.
The world’s largest domain name registrar is based on the ground floor of the two-storey, 85,000 sq ft Waterfront House office building, leaving 34,500 sq ft of Grade A office space to be occupied.
Chancerygate and Bridges were advised on the deal by Beeston Business Park’s joint letting agents, Innes England and FHP. CBRE acted on behalf of GoDaddy.
Arizona-headquartered GoDaddy has nearly 19 million customers with 78 million domains under management and employs more than 9,000 people worldwide. It has additional UK bases in Slough, Berkshire; Hayes, West London; and Woking, Surrey
Chancerygate and Bridges recently completed a speculative refurbishment at Waterfront House. GoDaddy is the second occupier within the building, joining research organisation Worldwide Clinical Trials.
The building itself overlooks the lakes and wetlands of Attenborough Nature Reserve, a 145-hectare habitat which opened in 1966 and is home to around 250 bird species.
Commenting on the company’s relocation, GoDaddy’s head of EMEA workplace, Hayley Samuels, said: ‘We pride ourselves on providing excellent environments for our people and Chancerygate has more than met our expectations at Waterfront House.
‘GoDaddy’s continued growth in the UK meant our expanding Nottingham team was spread across several adjoining buildings. It became essential for us to bring everyone together into one open-plan office, and also have the capacity to recruit many more people.
‘At our current rate of growth, we fully anticipate employing up to another 110 people over the next six months, bringing the total number of GoDaddy employees at Waterfront House to 300.
‘Our new offices give us an inspiring space close to a nature reserve which together will encourage creativity, boost productivity and help produce first-class results. The team at Chancerygate were focused on our achieving our needs and have delivered the ideal outcome for us.’
Beeston Business Park is owned and operated by a joint venture between Chancerygate and Bridges. The 48-acre scheme is located three miles from Nottingham city centre, within the Nottingham Enterprise Zone, and provides fast access to junction 25 of the M1.
Chancerygate head of asset management, Rory Finnan, said: ‘We are dedicated to creating the best places for businesses to thrive and Beeston Business Park is an excellent example of this.
‘We undertook the refurbishment because we were confident of strong demand for quality office space in this location. GoDaddy’s decision to relocate here shows our approach was the right one.
‘The Nottingham market has been undersupplied with new and refurbished office space for some time. Beeston Business Park will continue to boost the local economy, create new business and employment opportunities and attract further investment.’
Bridges investment director, Tom Tyler, added: ‘We’re delighted to be able to support this important regeneration project in Beeston. By creating high-quality office space on what was previously unused land, this development can play an important role in creating local jobs and boosting the local economy.’
Beeston Business Park also features a new 16-unit industrial and trade counter development called Trent Gateway, owned by a joint venture between Chancerygate and international real estate firm Hines.
The site totals 155,268 sq ft and comprises units to let and for sale ranging in size from 2,300 sq ft to 49,800 sq ft. Units are available for occupation later this year. Innes England and FHP are joint letting agents for both Beeston Business ParkTrent Gateway.
