Great Northern Group named lead sponsors of the Celebrating Rushcliffe Awards

Great Northern Group is delighted to announce their lead sponsorship of Rushcliffe Borough Council’s Celebrating Rushcliffe Awards.

The Group, who run hospitality outlets including Waterside, Copper West Bridgford, The Refinery and Copper Bingham, have chosen the community awards to extend their thanks to the people of the Borough for their support during the challenges of COVID-19.

The collaboration builds on the Group’s continued community work across Rushcliffe and Nottingham, having previously supported for the awards for three years.

They have again teamed up with the authority to acknowledge the Borough’s wonderful volunteers, businesses, environmentalists, clubs, organisations, sports teams and athletes and the best of its health and wellbeing and food and drink sectors at the awards on December 8.

It will culminate in Great Northern Group also sponsoring and presenting the final and most prestigious award of the evening, The Pride of Rushcliffe Award.

It honours an individual or organisation who make others proud to live in Rushcliffe, leading by example to make the Borough a better place to live and work.

Announcing the sponsorship at their Waterside venue in West Bridgford, Operations Manager Tom Holodynsky said: “We are delighted to sponsor the Celebrating Rushcliffe Awards to recognise the fantastic achievements of individuals, teams and organisations and say thank you to the people of the Borough for their continued support.

“As a business, we are proud to have venues in Rushcliffe and call it home for many of our customers and staff. It is vitally important to us we play our part in the community and acknowledge those around us who do so much to help each other and support the local economy.

“We are very much looking forward to the evening and celebrating the achievements of everyone in the borough, as well as presenting the prestigious Pride of Rushcliffe Award.”

Over 30 groups and individuals have been shortlisted for this year’s accolades and all have been invited to the ceremony at Rushcliffe Arena in West Bridgford to showcase their achievements in conjunction with media partner The West Bridgford Wire.

Leader of Rushcliffe Borough Council Cllr Robinson added: “We’re proud the awards are being supported by Great Northern Group as such a prominent local business who provide such great food and drink venues on our high streets.

“Their ethos epitomises so much of what is great about so many Rushcliffe businesses, so many of whom tackled the challenges of COVID head on and are continuing to make strides ahead of a busy period for hospitality this festive season.

“We’re very pleased they have chosen to join us in recognising the countless groups and individuals from Rushcliffe who are at the heart of our communities.

“This celebration and their support of the Pride of Rushcliffe Award is a fitting partnership on what I am sure will be an evening that will inspire us all.”
