Hard work of East Leake Academy students recognised on GCSE results day

Students at East Leake Academy (ELA), part of Diverse Academies Trust celebrated their hard work this morning as they collected their GCSE results.

Many students were overcome with joy as they opened their letters, with the year 11s collectively achieving a superb set of exam results.

Overall, 69% of grades were a grade 4 or above with 60% of students achieving five or more GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including maths and English. 10% of all grades were a grade 8 or 9, representing the hard work undertaken by East Leake Academy students and staff this year.

These excellent results will allow many students to continue their studies at East Leake Academy’s sixth form centre, or to go on to apprenticeships and further education.

One very happy student this morning was Beatrice Hill. She achieved six grade 9s and three grade 8s and will now go on to study for A levels in maths, further maths, physics and geography at East Leake Academy sixth form. Beatrice said: “I am thrilled with my results and really happy to be starting at East Leake Academy sixth form in September.”

Principal, Blake Francis, commented: “We are tremendously proud of our year 11 students and the results that they have achieved today. Our students have worked extremely hard and thoroughly deserve this success.

“GCSE results day is such an important milestone for our year 11 students and it is always a pleasure for myself and everyone in the ELA team to celebrate this special day with them. We wish each and every one of them the very best for the future.”
