Residents were surprised after the popular florist and grocer took its sign down for a replacement, revealing a business name from the past.

‘Our sign got slightly damaged and we had to remove the backing, leaving the original sign of H Knight who my grandad, Robert Slade, purchased the shop from in 1966.’

A notice found by a local resident and posted on social media shows an interesting history of the business.

It won’t be long before H. Knight once again disappears into history until the next sign replacement!
