Hot weather causes rush of homebuyers at West Bridgford’s new Riverside development

Peter James Homes has experienced a rush of reservations on its new Riverside apartment development on the banks of the River Trent in West Bridgford.

The East Midlands developer, through its sales agent FHP Living, clocked up six new reservation requests last week alone on the 34-apartment complex, which is currently under construction.

It is thought that the recent hot weather has not only inspired homebuyers to more actively pursue their hunt for a dream home, but has drawn them towards more open and “refreshing” waterside locations.

Riverside, which is being built on the site of the former Trentside Social Club, Wilford Lane, consists of two blocks of 1, 2 & 3 bedroom luxury apartments and penthouses.

With just four of the 21 units of the river-fronting Riverside One remaining, the recent surge in sales and reservations has led Peter James Homes to bring forward its release of the 13 units in Riverside Two.

Joe Hargreaves, senior sales executive Nottingham-based FHP Living, said: “Requests for viewings have been coming in thick and fast in recent weeks, and they’ve certainly hotted-up at the same time as the weather.

“There’s no doubt that most places are improved when the sun is out, but the beautiful views from Riverside, looking up and down the River Trent, are simply outstanding.

“It’s no wonder that so many of our viewers have snapped up these apartments so quickly. And to have an expanse of water on your doorstep during the very hot days, can be really quite refreshing.”

He added: “Amazingly, the housing market, particularly the properties that offer a better work-life balance, is incredibly buoyant at the moment. The weather has a massive effect on people’s moods and aspirations – and clearly on their house-hunting activities too!”

Remaining units of the river-fronting Riverside One include the stunning three-bedroom penthouse, occupying the entire fifth floor, which is priced at £750,000.

All apartments will include Mackintosh Kitchens – a brand manufactured in Yorkshire and inspired by celebrated Scottish architect, designer and artist Charles Rennie Mackintosh – as well as car parking spaces and acoustic flooring and ceilings.

Every unit will have its own outdoor space, either balconies or their own private garden.

Peter James Homes has also ensured that maximum green space has been left surrounding the apartment blocks down to the river. The development will therefore boast communal outdoor areas, landscaping and the planting of mature trees.

There will also be 11 charging points available to residents for electric vehicles.

The construction is expected to be completed by the end of the autumn this year, with buyers able to move in well before Christmas.
