‘After the November lockdown which was concerning as it’s obviously the main build up to our busiest time at Christmas, the reopening in December was a great relief and enabled us to have a decent month.
‘The main concern though was that people had already done their Christmas shopping during the lockdown, but thanks to our loyal customers that they came back to us in numbers and helped boost revenue.
‘As for the new restrictions If there was any month that we were forced to close then January would be as good as any as it’s always a quiet time of the year.
‘We have been fortunate to get financial help from the Government and Rushcliffe Borough Council over the last year for which we were very grateful, and we are waiting on news for the grants for this current closure.’
‘With the combination of these grants and a very understanding landlord who also supported us during the closures we are in a much better position than a lot of other businesses, especially the local hospitality scene.’
‘On the downside though, we have stock for Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day which we are almost certainly going to lose out on, especially Valentine’s as we have no idea as yet when we can reopen.
‘Going forward, when we finally open I’m sure as people’s confidence builds and the vaccine rollout progresses we can hopefully get back to some kind of norm.’
