Local consulting engineers Howard Ward Associates (HWA) has announced the opening of a new office in Nottingham city centre, which is part of the firm’s Midlands expansion strategy.

HWA, which has its head office on Walkers Yard in Radcliffe-on-Trent, has taken the space within Knight & Whitehall House on Carlton Street in the Hockley area of Nottingham.

The firm, which has a team of 15, delivers construction engineering consultancy services across a range of sectors, including education, healthcare, emergency services, commercial and residential.

Over the last couple of years, the company has experienced significant growth and serves an expanding portfolio of clients across the UK.

To accommodate the growing team and to have a central presence in the city, HWA decided to invest in Nottingham, with the new office allowing further growth.

Dan Bailey, partner at HWA, said: “It’s an exciting time for HWA as we continue to grow our client base and skilled team. We are very familiar with Nottingham and wanted to extend our presence in this dynamic city.

“Having an office in the centre of Nottingham seemed like the natural next step for us as we do a lot of work in the area and it will allow us to be closer to a number of existing clients.

“At Knight & Whitehall House we will be neighbours to a number of other firms in the property and construction sector which is ideal, and we look forward to further embedding ourselves within the business community in Nottingham.”

HWA is currently working on a number of significant schemes across the region and beyond, including Nottingham Trent University’s new ceremonial hall on Shakespeare Street, Cumberland Place; a 204-bed student accommodation facility in Southampton, and 3-9 Listergate, Nottingham, transforming the existing historic five storey building into a new apartment complex.

Additionally, HWA is in the early stages of development of two new Nottingham care home facilities in Clifton and Hucknall.

HWA has continued to grow its services since its inception and now offers a range of complementary services including geotechnical, environmental, flood risk and highway consultancy as part of an end-to-end service from pre-acquisition to project completion.
