Four further arrests as Hucknall stabbing enquiry continues

Police have made four further arrests following a stabbing in Hucknall.

The victim, a 20-year-old man, was riding a bicycle when he was confronted by three men and stabbed near Farleys Lane, at around 1.45 pm on Friday (24 July).

He was taken to hospital but his injuries are not life-threatening or life-altering.

Firearms officers were quickly on the scene and arrested a 26-year-old man on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm after abandoning a moped close by. He has since been released under investigation pending further enquiries.

Officers have now arrested four more men – aged 52, 23, 22 and 19 – in connection with the investigation.

Detective Sergeant Luke Todd, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “The investigation is moving at pace and we have now made five arrests.

“Violence, particularly involving weapons, will not be tolerated in Nottinghamshire and the swift and robust response to this incident shows just how seriously we treat this type of offence.”
